Jaime Luchuck was born during the Grey Cup (Canada’s Super Bowl) in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a child, she was heavily involved in dancing (tap, jazz, ballet and baton), even winning the Western Canadian Championships in her age group.
She moved to Calgary, Alberta after high school. Shortly after the move, Jaime became very sick. Already a slim girl, Jaime’s weight plummeted to 92 pounds. She was in and out of hospitals; the doctors could not diagnose her. She was forced to drop out of university and was eventually bed-ridden. Unwilling to accept defeat, she ended up seeking the advice of alternative health professionals who cured her. Since then, Jaime has become passionate about learning and not just accepting what life hands her.
In 2000, she packed up her car and drove across Canada to Toronto. There, Jaime worked at FLARE, Canada’s top fashion magazine, before pursuing her dream of acting. Her greatest success came playing the female lead in the feature film, Heartland Son. Deciding that acting was not paying the bills, Jaime began working in communications for the provincial government. Her education in graphic design, web design and multimedia has opened doors to interesting jobs, both freelance and with advertising agencies. Jaime is also a published writer.
Jaime is very family-oriented. Her parents, who have been married for 32 years, live in western Canada, and she has a sister and two brothers. She is very thankful for her amazing long-distance phone plan.
